DSpace relies on a database system (either PosgreSQL or Oracle) and a web application server, such as Apache Tomcat. Various other optional systems can be integrated with DSpace, such as a mailserver or a single sign-on infrastructure.

DSpace Services from @mire: @mire’s service level agreements are executed with care and eye for detail. Furthermore, a well defined communication process (including response times) and an authorization workflow are designed as part of the service level agreement to ensure smooth collaboration and transparency in costs at all times. Repository Introduction consists of those services that assist your organization in preparing and implementing a repository solution. This area of services includes (requirements) analysis and setup. Customization provides the technical assistance to implement those features that will convince your management and ensure swift adoption by your users. @mire has implemented following types of customizations, for different versions of DSpace: Styling, Integration, Batch Import, External Databases, Visualization, Interface modification, Administrator improvements, Information Export. Maintenance means keeping your repository in shape and capable of serving users and visitors. Three important areas of maintenance activities are Monitoring, Analysis and Resolving. Support helps your staff to address those issues that are less evident to address in-house. @mire can provide user helpdesk, technical support, documentation and training.   Add-on Modules from @mire: (ADDING FUNCTIONALITY TO DSPACE) The Reporting Suite provides automated generation of listings and reports, as well as Content and Usage Analysis. The Metadata Quality Module offers batch operations on metadata, as well as duplicate detection and merging algorithms. The Document Streaming Module ensures that deposited documents can be properly viewed in-browser without downloading. The Image Zoom Module offers zooming and panning for (large) images in your repository, greatly enhancing accessibility and avoiding heavy download requirements for your users. The Audiovisual Streaming Module enables playback of audio and video, in a flash player integrated in your repository. The Information Conversion Framework integrates best of breed open source file convertors in your repository, enabling on the fly conversions and downloads in different file formats.
