We take the protection of your personal information very seriously and adhere strictly to the rules on data protection. On this website, personal data is only collected for technical purposes. In no event will the data be sold or otherwise transferred to third parties.
The following statement gives an overview of how we ensure this protection and what type of data are collected to what purpose.

1. Collection and processing of data
Each access to our home page or retrieval of files stored on the website is logged. The storage of this data serves internal system-related and statistical purposes.
In our server, log files information is sent to us by your browser and then automatically collected and stored. This information is:

    * Operating system used
    * Referrer URL (previously visited page that links to CARPET)
    * Time of server request.
These data cannot be assigned to certain individuals. These data is not compiled with other data sources.
Additional personal data is only collected if you provide this information voluntarily, eg during an query, Forum- / catalogue entry or registration.

2. Use and disclosure of personal data
If you provide us with personal data, we will only use it to answer your questions and for the purpose of  technical administration.
We will erase stored personal data when you withdraw your consent to the storage or if their storage is inadmissible for other legal reasons.

3. Cookies
Our website uses so-called cookies in several places. They serve to make our site more user-friendly, effective and safer. Cookies are small text files placed on your computer by your browser. Most of the cookies we use are so-called "session cookies". They are automatically deleted after your visit. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses.
Your data are collected as follows:
When you visit the CARPET forum several cookies are created. Two cookies just contain a user identifier (user ID) and an anonymous session identifier (session ID) that you are automatically assigned by CARPET forum. A third cookie is created once you have visited topics and is used to store information about your read posts in order enable selecting the unread posts. Further data are collected by transmitting this information to the operator. This, for example, concerns – but is not limited to - posts that are created as a guest, data that are collected during registration and your messages created after your registration. Your user account consists of at least a unique username, a password to login with this account and a personal, valid e-mail address.
Your password will be saved with a one-way encryption (Hash), to ensure safety. However, it is recommended not to use this password on a variety of websites. The password is your key to your user account for the forum, so use it with caution. In particular, members of the CARPET team or a third party cannot legitimately ask for your password.

4. Right to information
Upon written request, we will gladly inform you about your stored personal data.

5. Comments, forum posts and e-mails
The service records and saves information you enter in the portal and / or the forum or convey to us in any other way. This concerns, for example, comments, names, e-mail addresses and URLs that you enter in the respective comment fields and forum posts. This information is voluntarily provided, and is not be verified in any way; the use of pseudonyms, etc. is possible. We point out that name, associated web site and comments are visible to all users of the site.

Security advice
Data are also collected and stored when you send emails to us.
