CARPET internal – New self-administration functionality and revised catalogue

The information platform on ePublishing technology CARPET has improved its services: The new self-administration functionality allows you to control all your data and entries; you’re from now on able to administrate, to edit or to delete the datasets you leave on the platform. The CARPET Catalogue for ePublishing software and services has got a new look and a bilingual workflow for catalogue entries has been implemented. The new improvements are part of the sustainability concept of the CARPET project in order to provide the CARPET Platform to you for a long period of time.

With the new self-administration functions every member of the CARPET community can administrate, update or delete the data, he had left previous on the platform. Beside every personal detail in the account data, he will be able to control the entries in the catalogue for software and services or projects as well as his contributions to the Forum, Knowledge Base and News Blog. Especially providers, developers and projects can control their appearance at CARPET at any time and update the data if necessary. You will find the central data control under My CARPET.

The catalogue of CARPET has been new arranged and is now presented in a more orderly fashion. The details of a software, service or project entry will be staged side by side with the descriptions in the middle and additional details on the side. The user looking for information will find all the details he needs on first sight, annoying up and down scrolling will be reduced. The revised workflow allows registering a software, services or project in English and German.

The now implemented improvements are an important step for the sustainability concept of the CARPET Project. The transfer of full control of data to the members of the CARPET community helps to provide an up-to-date and active community. The aim is to offer CARPET as an infrastructure for the information and cooperation on ePublishing technology for long period of time, so that users find the information they need and providers or developers find subsequent usage of their solutions.
